"Drive" Away Winter Needs!

One of the items we run short of this time of year is warm winter boots for the men and women in our shelters and the homeless we assist on the streets. During the cold winter months, we also use large quantities of over-the-counter medications like ibuprofen, decongestant and alcohol-free cough medicine to help our students remain healthy.

We'd be so blessed if you could organize a "boots blitz" and ask your congregation or fellow employees to donate new or gently used boots of all sizes. Or, establish an ongoing "medicine chest," where over-the-counter medications can be deposited. We also need plastic shopping bags you get at your grocery store to use on our Mobile Kitchen—it's a great way to recycle!

We'll welcome your delivery of these items every Tuesday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at our warehouse at 1069 Connecticut Avenue, Unit 2-B. And if you and your group would like to sort clothes in our warehouse, we'd welcome your helping hands too! Please e-mail Bridgeport Rescue Mission for all the details.
