“Safe Harbor…”
“I’d rather stay
here for
Christmas. I’m
too scared to go
home.” Most of
us look forward
to family
holidays –
Christmas,
Easter, July
4th,
Thanksgiving –
opportunities
for families to
come together,
have fun and
celebrate …
unless, that is,
you come from a
troubled family
where drugs and
alcohol are the
focal point of
the celebration.
Nancy deMaille,
our Women’s
Services
Director shares
that “many of
the women in the
New Life Program
choose the safe
harbor of the
shelter during
holidays. This
past Christmas,
for example, the
girls enjoyed a
lovely Christmas
dinner together,
went to see the
movie “The
Nativity” and
then came home
and sang
Christmas
Carols.
Thanks to you,
our faithful
donors, for
providing the
prayer and
financial
support
necessary to
make the
Bridgeport
Rescue Mission a
safe harbor for
men and women as
they grow to
become the
people God
created them to
be!”
