ColdBefore he came to the Mission, 49-year-old Wilfredo was “living” in a cement pipe near Marina Village, a housing project in Bridgeport.   “It was a horrible experience.  I could hear people screaming . . . and gunshots.  I was scared.  And it was so cold.”

New Life Discipleship Program student Melissa Smith (left), shown here with Women’s Services Director Nancy deMaille, suffered a lifetime of alcohol abuse that began with a dysfunctional family.  But she believes now she is where God intends here to be.  “I know He wants and waits for the lost and broken-hearted just like I was, and always in His perfect timing.  He saved me.”  She recently shared her story of transformation by God’s hand in a moving poem.  Click here to read Melissa’s poem about her life.
