Services and Programs - New Life Discipleship Program

Sick at heart, alone and often suffering the devastating effects of drug use, men and women come to Bridgeport Rescue Mission looking for help, hope and a chance to start their lives over again. They find all three in our New Life Discipleship Program.

This long-term residential program offers men and women a safe environment in which to grow spiritually while healing from addiction and other destructive behaviors through one-on-one counseling, case management, and educational and life-skills classes.

Up to 35 men and 14 women reside in two separate campuses, where they receive the tools they need to grow strong emotionally, spiritually, academically and physically, through courses like Overcoming Crisis, Codependency, Anger Management, Financial Management, Life Skills, Computer Skills, GED Preparation and Bible Study.

Bridgeport Rescue Mission does everything possible to eliminate discouraging roadblocks and give our homeless residents every opportunity for success:
  • Safe shelter—and an address where they can be contacted for employment
  • Appropriate clothing for interviews, along with instruction in personal hygiene
  • Job-skills training, resume writing and interview coaching
  • Necessary credentials for employment
  • Transportation to training and interviews
  • Christ-centered counseling and character-building programs
  • Spiritual encouragement and moral support
By blessing the Mission with your prayers and gifts, you allow us to provide a stable, Christ-centered foundation from which homeless and disheartened souls can restore their dignity, find gainful employment and discover God’s purpose for their lives.
